OUR STORY

Swell & Summit started with a simple question: why does outdoor gear cost so much?

I'm Fabien — a French entrepreneur based in Singapore. I surf, climb, hike, ski and trek. I've paddled out at dawn in Taiwan, roped up on limestone in the Calanques with the Mediterranean 200 metres below my feet, trekked through Nepal's Langtang Valley in winter, and watched the sun melt into the Tasman Sea during a line up in New Zealand.

I've also spent too much money on gear.

The outdoor industry has a markup problem. The same materials, the same factories, the same certifications — but once a logo goes on it, the price triples. Celebrity endorsements, retail overhead, and marketing budgets get baked into every product. You end up paying for the brand, not the gear.

Swell & Summit exists to fix that.

We source directly. We test personally. We price honestly. Every product on this store has been hand-selected by someone who actually uses it — not by an algorithm, not by a buying team in an office tower.

If I wouldn't take it on a wall, into the water, or up a mountain, it doesn't make it to the store.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The outdoors doesn't care about your brand. The wave doesn't check your label. The mountain doesn't ask who made your harness. What matters is that your gear works, that it's safe, and that it doesn't bankrupt you before you reach the trailhead.
